Sean Lynch

Intellectual Property and Patent Attorney

I’m an intellectual property attorney working Of Counsel to The McArthur Law Firm. I have a background in mechanical engineering with a BS from Georgia Tech and an MS from UCLA. I earned my JD from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles. I am licensed to practice in California, and I am registered as a patent attorney before the USPTO.

While I specialize primarily in patent law, I also provide copyright and trademark advice to help my clients build their businesses and their brands.

I have always enjoyed helping people.

I grew up in a family of engineers. My dad is now the chair of the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering department at UCLA, my grandfather is a theoretical phsycist with a PhD from Harvard, and my Uncle, with a PhD in electrical engineering, works at HRL, a reknowned research laboratory  in Malibu, California.

I became interested in law because I wanted to help people like my dad, my grandfather, and my uncle protect their ideas.

Engineers are focused on invention and problem solving, so it’s no surprise the legal and business side of things doesn’t typically excite them.

That’s where I come in.

You bring the ideas to life, I help protect them.

Life can’t always be about work!

When I’m not practicing law, you can find me running or biking with my dog, or at the beach surfing and bodyboard.
